About UsINK was launched in 2008 by a group of students who wanted to bring back an arts & literature magazine to the TA community. The INK Magazine editorial staff's mission is to highlight the incredibly talented artists, writers & performers at Thornton and recognize them for their craft. We aim to showcase hidden talents and encourage creativity in as many forms as possible.
The name INK represents ink used both in creating art and in composing literature - not to be confused with tattoo ink, although we have received several submissions from tattoo artists across the country! Check us out on Instagram @TAInkstagram and Twitter @INKMag_TA to see more student work. |

Madeline Darigan '22 - Editor
Maddie is an avid musician and writer who adores all things arts. She enjoys going on expeditions, communicating with the Muses, and delving into the worlds of infinite wisdom. In other words, walks, singing, and reading. So far, her favorite books include The Little Prince, Lord of the Flies, and The Kite Runner. She hopes this year’s magazine continues to honor and inspire the many artists of TA. Currently a junior, this is her first year with INK.

Ms. Barbara Barklow - Advisor
Ms. Barklow has been an English teacher at Thornton Academy since 2005. When students approached her to start a literary magazine, she jumped at the chance, having served as as a student editor on both her high school & college literary publications. In addition, Ms. Barklow was an active participant in both the visual arts (painting & sculpture) and the performing arts (theater) from a young age through her college experience. In her freetime, Ms. B always enjoys a good book or film and is getting back to her artistic roots with a big tin of chalk pastels, some watercolor pencils, and a wonderfully messy sketchbook.
